What is kosher food? What does it mean that it needs to be supervised?
Kosher food is food that has been prepared according to Jewish dietary laws. The preparation of food served in public settings must be observed by a mashgich (one trained in the laws of kashrut). Our kosher supervision is provided by the Orthodox Vaad of Philadelphia.
