The Tzedek Philly Fellowship

The Tzedek Philly fellowship is geared toward Jewish students interested in gaining skills and mentoring in community organizing while developing their understanding of Jewish traditions related to social justice. Fellows will be trained in community organizing techniques and will develop a plan to use these skills to bring greater awareness of social justice issues to the Jewish community and general communities on each fellow's campus. Applications accepted on a rolling basis through February 22nd.
 

Successful Fellows will…

  • Attend all sessions of a Tzedek Philly community organizing mini-course (offered at Hillel at Temple, other sites might be made available depending on interest)
  • Attend at least 3 Jewish learning sessions related to Judaism and social justice (offered by Tzedek Philly / Hillel or by another venue – subject to approval).
  • Develop a plan to use the community organizing skills gained in the fellowship to bring greater awareness of social justice issues to the Jewish and general communities on campus
  • Write occasional pieces about their progress for the Tzedek Philly blog

Fellows who fulfill all of the requirements of the fellowship, including attending all learning sessions and completing all relevant written evaluations, will be award a $150 Tzedek Philly fellowship stipend.
