The Tzedek Philly Community Organizing Grant offers grants of up to $500 for student-designed community organizing and social justice focused projects. The Community Organizing Grant is aimed specifically at Jewish students interested in furthering social justice through engaging Jewish and non-Jewish students in conversation about and action for social justice and social change. Applications will be accepted on a rolling basis, for Spring semester projects. Qualified applicants will be invited for short interviews prior to selection for the grant.

If selected Grantees will…
• Design and implement one community-organizing project over the course of the semester (concluding by August 2010).
- Successful projects will engage both Jewish and non-Jewish students on campus, with an emphasis on drawing Jewish students into greater involvement with social justice and providing education on social justice issues.
- Successful projects will partner with other campus or off-campus organizations to achieve their goals.
- Grantees will be expected to meet regularly with the director of Tzedek Philly to track the progress of the project and will be responsible for setting and reaching appropriate benchmarks.
- Provide all requested evaluation reports (including any relevant tracking of participants in your project)
